Dear Friends and Co-laborers in Christ,
It is a continuous joy to serve the Lord in this ministry alongside of so many faithful servants. Since you are such an integral part of this ministry, I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for a heart filled with praise and thanksgiving. For this reason, I will endeavor to give you a snapshot of some of the things that have been taking place.
SNAPSHOT #1
THE AUDIBLE OF
The Surpassing Power of the Gospel
Good News! I am excited to announce, the audible version for ‘The Surpassing Power of the Gospel – Christ Centered Evangelism’ is now available. Many of you have been waiting for the audiobook to be out. You can find it on Amazon and Audible.com. For me, the completion of the audiobook is like the final piece of the puzzle in the publishing of the book. Pray with me that this will be a blessing to many.
Already the Lord is using the teaching to encourage and ignite a new passion for evangelism in those who are reading through it. It has sparked interest in others to begin to adopt other teachings from Ed’s Discipleship studies in their churches. They plan to use them in training and equipping new believers, as well as encouraging the walk of faith of others.
Now, that these things are available, please continue to pray that the Lord will get these materials in the hands of others, for the spreading of the gospel. The Lord has already begun to answer this prayer. Recently, the book was made available and well received at a men’s conference in Louisiana. Also, as I shared in the last newsletter, that my home church wanted to teach through the book, in our community groups. This included most of the adult classes, college and career, and youth. When reading the book,
you quickly realize that every chapter is replete with scriptures. Because of that, this was a time of opening up God’s word and recalling how the Lord and His disciples conducted evangelism, for we know and trust that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
I will share just a snapshot from two reports from this time.
- One man shared saying, this has shaken me to the core. I am examining my life to see if I a in the faith. I am meeting with the pastors about my soul
- A lady commented – It’s like I am seeing these things for the first time. It’s been gripping my heart. I’m going back to reread it, slowly and diligently, while I listen to the audio.

TRAINING & EQUIPPING
The Lord continues to open doors of opportunity for this ministry to be involved in the training of pastors, church planters, and missionaries. Through your faithful prayers and giving, we can distribute the resources we have committed to quarterly. These gifts, along with others, enable them to carry out the work the Lord has given them to do in their countries. The men with whom we partner around the world faithfully report to us, giving an account of their ministry to see God’s hand at work.
The multiplication of God’s word and God’s ways is increasing abundantly, as so is Christian persecution. Therefore, it is essential to recognize the great need. These men continue to use Ed’s teaching materials in the training and equipping of others because they trust that they are doctrinally sound, and they are eyewitnesses to the results of God’s word. It is an excellent reminder to all of us that when we are willing to stand on our faith and share God’s truths with others, God’s Word prevails over all obstacles and in all circumstances.
Recently, our dear Kenyan brother in Christ, George Wafula, visited the United States. He travels stateside every other year, giving testimony and being accountable to the individuals and churches who support their work. It was my joy to host him one evening. I invited several pastors and other friends to join us that night. I was especially excited that George’s schedule provided this time when my daughter and one of my grandsons were visiting. Oh, how I wish all of you could have been with us that evening. It was a time of true fellowship, marked by tears, laughter, prayers, and encouragement. We viewed a video George had prepared of the work at the institute. We have shared with you many times about K.M.T.I. (KITALE MISSION TRAINING INSTITUTE).
Ed and George worked together for over 18 years in training and equipping men from Kenya and Uganda. It was with great joy that George shared that they have now expanded the work into South Sudan. Sudan is a very impoverished country with little or no Christian influence. This news is indeed a tremendous blessing, allowing us to be part of spreading the Gospel. It is a new country, where the Bible teachings from this ministry will be taught. Yes, the work of the Lord is multiplying.
Snapshot #3
LADIES’ MINISTRIES
Thankfully, the Lord continues to keep me busy. I have the tremendous joy to work with and among several groups of women. First, I love being able to teach God’s word weekly. The women’s class at my home church is a precious group of ladies. The Lord is growing us together in His word creating strong bonds of fellowship and community. They are faithful prayer warriors and servants that cover so many areas of needs.
Additionally, our church’s ladies ministry is such a blessing. I am blessed to have help from several women who are willing to help plan, prepare and serve. Usually, the ladies of the church gather together, twice a year enjoying a luncheon, time of fellowship and bible study. This is always a fun, interactive and encouraging time, that is focused on exhortation of growing in Christlikeness and being involved with various ministries activities to reach and care for others.
In October, we did things a little differently. We have many churches in this area that have been going through very difficult situations. Some are without pastors and other leadership, and some even choosing to close their doors. During these transitional times, our pastors, have come alongside of them, supplying their pulpits, meeting with them and assisting them with many other issues. So, our lead pastor wanted to open up our fall event as an outreach to other churches and naturally to the lost around us. We sent out invitations to several of our sister churches in the area and encouraged others to invite their lost friends and relatives.
Much planning and preparation took place for this event to occur. But no matter how much one plans and prepare, it will all be in vain, if the Lord is not pleased and present among us. Thankfully, the Lord blessed this opportunity greatly. We hosted women that represented over 23 different churches that day.
Our conference was entitled, “TRANSFORMING RADIANCE’. Our prayer and aim was for the Lord to RENEW, RESTORE, REFRESH so that we would REJOICE IN HIM. A group of 3 young women from the University of Mobile lead our worship time. Without hesitation I can testify they lead us in sweet worship through Music. We enjoyed a delicious catered lunch, wonderful and generous door-prizes donated by our church’s community groups, and more importantly, a day in God’s word.
I was privilege to begin the teaching time, exhorting the ladies to radiate with the Light Of Christ. Encouraging them to be transformed by the renewal of their minds by the Word of God. Then our
Guest Speaker from Texas, Margaret Ashmore began with a brief testimony of being disciple by Elisabeth Elliot, and then after lunch powerful taught twice on the Cross. The Lord appeared to be graciously dealing in hearts that day.
I know for sure, the ladies I invited to join us that day are not believers, yet! But the Lord is using the things they heard and saw to stir their hearts. I met with one them in the following weeks of the conference and she had so many questions. We talked for over two hours about God’s word. I continue to pray for her salvation.
Two of the things that I hear the most is:
- They are seeing that they have neglected spending time in the word to hear and obey. So then, they are not being the light they need to be.
- Since I am a Christian, I am in Christ. I can no longer use my past as an excuse for my actions. He has given me a new life, I don’t have to live in the past anymore. I have His power that lives in me, enabling me to live in my redemption. I do not have to beleaguer and concentrate on the past. I am a new creation, headed in a new direction, with a new future.
- The importance of the word, Nevertheless in God’s word resonated in many hearts. No matter what is occurring around us, whether we are seeing great results or no results, remember who God is, what He can do and what He is doing, listen and obey.
- Now, just where we will all be reminded of the power of this word. Take note of that term “Nevertheless.” It is mentioned 87 times in God’s word. For example: Luke 5:5. Peter, a fisherman as his trade, had been fishing al night with no success. He and the others had stopped fishing and was washing their nets. Jesus used Peter’s boat as the platform to preach from. Afterward, He said to Peter, “Launch out into the deep ad let down your nets.”Peter’s first response was to inform Jesus that they had fished all night and caught nothing;
NEVERTHELESS, AT YOUR WORD, I WILL LET DOWN THE NET.” The fruit of obedience reveals that your ears and eyes are on Him. The results of God’s handiwork will follow.
Of course, the most important of all, is when Jesus used that word in Gethsemane. “I Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; NEVERTHELESS, not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Oh, precious friend in Christ, our God is at work. He desires to work through His People, to carry out His plans and His purposes.
Lastly, I have just returned from a 3-day retreat with the precious women from a church in Grand Bay, Al.
This is my fourth year to be invited as their guest speaker. I taught 5 times during these days on WHAT IS REAL SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND WHAT IS BEING AN IMPOSTER OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
It is always a wonderful time in God’s word. This is a great time to get away from the pressures and daily obligations and be centered on true fellowship and the teaching from the word of God. During this time, we enjoyed delicious food, a sweet craft time, relaxing around the fire-pit and even playing games at night. However, this body of believers always spends quality time sitting under His word and times of reflection and prayer. I think we all left contemplating truths and a deeper hunger to hear and obey Him.
SNAPSHOT OF A GRATEFUL HEART
I do hope that these few snapshots of how the Lord is at work in this ministry will be a blessing and encouragement to you. In all of His gracious work and supplying the necessary needs to continue these things, are directly correlated to all who stand with us in love, prayers and giving. As Ed said before, God does not drop this amazing provision out of the clouds. Today, He provides His manna in and through other avenues. For this ministry, as He has done from its inception, He uses other born-again brothers and sisters in Christ,
who willingly manifest the supernatural, sacrificial, and sharing love of Christ in our lives and ministry!
Honestly, this is a snapshot of my heart. I wish I could properly convey what your prayers mean to me. I know none of these things would bear His fruit, except by His working. As my shepherd, I know He holds me up. I know He is guiding me and giving me strength to press onward. I know there is no other explanation, except; our God still has work for me to do during these days. But He continually has used you to help carry out all of these things. Please continue to pray for me, that He will strengthen my weaknesses, and cause my feet to be firmly planted, standing steadfast, immovable, always abounding in what He desires for me. I will be praying
the same thing for you.
For His Name’s sake,
Dianne Lacy
