This conference was held in a primitive camp-ground setting. Because of many different situations, funds were not allocated for this conference from their convention. Therefore, they did not have the financial means to purchase food for the week. They only had enough food for two days. I was not aware of any of these circumstances prior to my arrival and would not have known, but I overheard a conversation in Spanish. The pastors that were conversing with each other were not aware that I could understand what they were saying. Upon learning of what was going on, I asked them what their plans involved. They told me that the Nicaraguan pastors believed that they needed this teaching and that this was God’s timing. So, they decided to have the conference and ask the Lord to provide daily for them. They said if God did not provide they would fast all week. However, before I left for this mission trip, a dear brother in Mobile, (who himself was out of work at the time), met with me. He felt led to give extra funds for the trip, to use for any needs that might arise. Upon learning about this great need, I was able to tell pastor Maynor, go buy food for the rest of the week; God has already provided. What a testament to all involved of the mighty working of Jehovah Jireh—God—Our Provider.
